Just one week after the second race weekend in Imola, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to its third stop. This weekend (28.-30.04.23), the Formula Series will be a guest at the Hungaroring just outside the Hungarian capital as part of the FIA CEZ Championship. The event also heralds the start of the motorsport year in circuit racing in Hungary. In addition, there are points in the Austrian race car national championship.

At the 2nd round of the Drexler Formula Cup in Imola Benjamin Berta (Franz Wöss Racing) was able to impressively convince in both races and underline his race victory from Mugello. After the Hungarian kept the competition behind him in qualifying with the fastest lap in 1:39.952 min, he left no doubt in race 1 on the 4.909-kilometer race track in Imola that victory would only go his way.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

The Autodromo "Enzo e Dino Ferrari" invites to the second round of the Drexler Formula Cup next weekend (21.-23.04.2023). In cooperation with the Zinox F2000 Italian Trophy, the Drexler Formula Cup will race once again in Italy after the season opener at Mugello, before the third round at the Hungaroring a week later. Imola is the next round for the Italian championships and the race program is accordingly outstanding. The TCR Italy Touring Car Championship, the Italian Formula 4 Championship, as well as the Formula Regional Championship by Alpine and the Championato Italiano Sport Prototipi will do the honors on the Formula 1 track at the ACI Racing Weekend. After the great season opener at Mugello, Imola will once again feature a cracker of a field with over 30 formula cars competing in the Drexler Formula Cup. "For Imola, the interest of the teams is even greater. We had a very good start to the season at Mugello," says coordinator Franz Wöss.

Benjamin Berta and Juju Noda win at season opener

At the first meeting of the Drexler Formula Cup in the still young season Benjamin Berta (Franz Wöss Racing) and Juju Noda ( Noda Racing) could celebrate the opening victories. For the two youngsters, it was a dream come true to leave a whole series of established Formula 3 drivers behind them in the field of 34 cars. Of course, the victory of Japan's Juju Noda, who once again proved her talent in Formula racing and proved to be really competitive right from the start after switching from Formula Regional to Formula 3, outweighed all the others. Qualifying on the 5.245-kilometer circuit in Tuscany was dominated by Francesco Simonazzi ( BVM Racing), who, however, used the weekend for a test session and, as a guest starter, was not included in the official classification. Juju Noda reeled off 10 laps in qualifying and secured second place ahead of Paolo Brajnik (NV Racing), who in turn was able to relegate Marco Falci to fourth. Benjamin Berta and Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) did not fare as well, finishing sixth and eighth respectively.
