Josef Halwachs joins forces with Renauer Motorsport

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

For this year's season the Drexler-Automobile Formel Cup can announce the return of a Team´s, which started 1986 with the formula sport in Austria. We are talking about Renauer Motorsport from Neunkirchen. Under the direction of Junior Florian Renauer, the team from Neunkirchen returns to formula racing and will use Josef Halwachs's Formula 3 Dallara 308 Opel Spiess. Furthermore, the commitment with a Formula 4 in the formula series is planned. After the finale in Brno last year, Josef Halwachs was looking for a new team for the 2019 season, as his previous mechanics would no longer be available for further tasks. At the first contact with Sepp Renauer the chemistry seemed to be right at first go, the plans became more concrete. Before Christmas, Josef Halwachs and Sepp Renauer agreed on the future cooperation. The Formula 3 racer is currently standing in the halls of Renauer Motorsport and is being prepared for the season.

With Renauer Motorsport, a team with a great motorsport tradition is returning to its roots. "We've been fond of formula racing again for quite some time and have been following the REMUS Formula Cup. The step to this decision was not difficult. Florian will take over the team management because I'd like to assign him this task," says Sepp Renauer. The team started in 1986 with formula racing, at that time still in the Formula Ford Cup Austria. From 1992 to 1996 Sepp Renauer drove successfully in the Austria Formula 3 Cup, became runner-up in the Formula 3 Trophy in 1995. Later followed the foundation of his own motorsport company, which started its activities in 1997. The assignments became even more international with immediate effect. A wide variety of vehicle types, from the SCC sports car to the FIA sports car World Cup in the SR2 class category were introduced. After an engagement in Formula Renault Italy and Switzerland, the team switched to GT Sport in 2004 and successfully drove in the FIA GT2 category. In 2010, Junior Florian Renauer, at the age of 17, made his first racing appearances in the GT4 Junior Programme with Ginetta. The past years Renauer Motorsport was successful in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.

"I am very pleased that Renauer Motorsport is providing me with support for the Formula 3 races. There are probably not so many teams in Austria that can come up with this motorsport experience," says Josef Halwachs. Sepp Renauer has always been a strong supporter of young talent and wants to continue this in the Drexler-Automobile Formula Cup. "With the purchase of a professional simulator, we will offer young people from karting the opportunity to prepare themselves for possible assignments in formula racing. I think the Drexler-Automobile Formula Cup offers very good conditions for this in practice. We also offer Formula 4 test drives on the Pannoniaring or other racetracks. Interested drivers can contact us at any time," concludes Sepp Renauer.
