Worthy contribution in the yearbook RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

For reasons of the Corona pandemic, it had become somewhat quiet around the reference book in Swiss motor sport. Now the first RENNSPORT SCHWEIZ yearbook in three years is back with a new edition. In more than 30 chapters and richly illustrated, the achievements of the best Swiss motorsport athletes are highlighted. The Swiss drivers in the Drexler Formula Cup are also in the thick of things. Led by seven-time champion Sandro Zeller, the strong Formula 3 scene is put under the microscope. Motorsport expert Peter Wyss has succeeded in vividly summarizing the last few years. The book is a must-read for every motorsport fan and has extensive coverage of topics from the world of motorsport, from Formula 1 to DTM and the GT champions, as well as many articles from karting and motorcycling. The publisher is Aktiv-Verlag in Switzerland.

Annual victory ceremony at the Dallara Academy

Drexler-Automobile Formula Cup

After the season finale in Mugello, the honors for the winners and placers in the Drexler Formula Cup were on the agenda. Piero Longhi of the TopJet F2000 Trophy and Franz Wöss of the Drexler Formula Cup had once again invited guests to Italy for this end-of-season event. The chosen ambience did full justice to the occasion. The trophies were presented at the Dallara Academy in Varano de` Melegari. First there was the opportunity to visit the Dallara exhibition in the presentation rooms. The tour gave an insight into the history of the globally active vehicle manufacturer, which has made its mark on Formula 3 in particular for over 30 years. Dallara won national Formula 3 championships all over Europe and helped very many drivers to enter Formula 1, with Bernd Schneider (1987), Jean Alesi (1987), Jos Verstappen (1993), Nick Heidfeld (1997), Lewis Hamilton (2005), Nico Hülkenberg (2008), Daniel Ricciardo (2009) or Lance Stroll (2016) and Lando Norris (2017) being celebrated as Formula 3 champions. The list of well-known names is very long.

Paolo Brajnik and Sandro Zeller win at the finale

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Mugello (ITA)

At the grand finale to the Drexler Formula Cup, Paolo Brajnik (NV Racing) was unstoppable in both races. At almost summerlike temperatures in Tuscany Brajnik lived up to his role as favorite for the day's victory, but in the 2nd race things should turn out differently. For the second time the Drexler Formula Cup cooperated with the TopJet Formula Trophy this year and provided with 30 formula cars the strongest field. In the qualifying Paolo Brajnik drove the fastest time with a 1:40,488 min. His compatriot Bernardo Pellegrini (HT Powerteam) missed the pole position by 1.693 seconds, relegating Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) and Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) to the other places.
