First battle in the title fight

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)

After the long summer break, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to Brno (September 03-05) for its fifth round. If you like, the traditional track in the Czech Republic heralds the final autumn. The Masaryk Racing Days have been established for years in the calendar of the Drexler Formula Cup in Brno, where they again cooperate with the FIA Zone Championship. The racing program in Brno is top-class. The BOSS GP with Formula 1 and GP2 racing cars will take center stage. In addition, the TCR Eastern Europe, the Swift Cup Europe and the GT series with the P9 Challenge and the SCC are likely to cause a stir. "We expect exciting clashes in Brno. The championship is entering the hot phase, so at least the first preliminary decisions in the individual formula classes are to be expected," says coordinator Franz Wöss.

On both days of the weekend, 19 races are scheduled on the 5.403-kilometer circuit. After the four race weekends in the Drexler Formula Cup so far, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has been able to maintain his lead in the standings. If the Swiss is also unstoppable in the Czech Republic, he will be heading for title defense. His pursuers Thomas Aregger and Stefan Fürtbauer (both Franz Wöss Racing) are within striking distance of Zeller. But throwing the five-time champion off track is likely to be difficult. In Formula 3, Tomas Chabr (Chabr Motorsport), Nikolas Szabo (Gender Motorsport) and Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) are making their debuts. As Benjamin Berta is now moving up to Formula 3, Patrick Schober (Procar Motorsport) is likely to drive towards the title in Formula 4. In Formula 3 Open, Vladimir Netusil (Effektive Racing) has a home game. He is unlikely to be denied the championship, although there are strong competitors in Paolo Brajnik (ASU NV Racing) and Formula 3 returnee Attila Penzes (Magyar Racing Team). In Formula Renault, Luca Steffen (Speed Center) and Dr. Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing) are looking to stake their claim to the title. If they both finish in the front ranks of the points, they could still catch the current leader Walter Steding (Speed Center). With Jan Matyas (HKC Racing Academy) and Vaclav Lausman (Sape Motorsport) two Formula Renault drivers will start in the Drexler Formula Cup for the first time. In total, drivers from seven nations will be on the grid for both sprint races in the Drexler Formula Cup.

On Friday (03.09.) the qualifying for the Drexler Formula Cup will take place at 14.45 hrs. The 1st race will take place on Saturday (04.09.) at 10.10 am. After the 2.Qaulifying at 8.30 o'clock on Sunday morning (05.09.) the 2.run goes over the stage around 11.30 o'clock.
