Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Imola (ITA)
The Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup comes to its third round after Imola (21-23 June). After the season opener in Monza (ITA) and the guest appearance on the Red Bull Ring (AUT), Formula 3 will stop together with Formula Renault in the Autodromo "Enzo e Dino Ferrari". The ACI Racing Weekend is not only about points in the Drexler Automotive Formula Cup. As in the first two races of this season, the Italian TOPJET F2000 Trophy with Formula 3 will take part. The racing program is peppered with some top-class circuit series of Italy.
With the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, the Mini Challenge, the C.I.Gran Turismo Sprint and the Italy Touring Car Championship (TCR), the organiser has a wide-ranging programme to offer. A total of 14 decisions are pending. The former Formula 1 circuit in Imola is one of the most challenging courses in this year's calendar. Formula 3 will clearly set the tone in the field of drivers with 20 cars. Defending champion Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) could only convince in Spielberg in the 1st race. In the 2nd race Tom Beckhäuser (Franz Wöss Racing) was the winner. Sandro Zeller is one of the favourites for Imola. However, he has to deal with a few opponents, who are always considered for the podium. These include Antoine Bottiroli (GFORCE Racing), Kurt Böhlen (Franz Wöss Racing), Andrea Cola (Monolite Racing), Marcel Tobler (Jo Zeller Racing) and Tom Beckhäuser. The pilots of the TOPJET F2000 Trophy will certainly be involved in the overall daily victory. Alessandro Bracalente (TEAM ONE MOTORSPORT) is the top favourite from the Italian Formula 3 league at the start. Brac talents won both sprint races at Imola in 2018. Dr.Norbert Groer has taken the lead in Formula Renault since his appearance at the Red Bull Ring. Monza double winner Simon Stoller and rival Nico Gruber want to make up the gap to Groer in Imola and hope for podium places. Thomas Aregger (Equipe Bernoise), who knew how to convince in Spielberg, is also heading for the podium. Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing) leads the Formula 3 Trophy classification. Behind him it's close. With Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing), Florian Münger (Jo Zeller Racing) and Dr. Ralph Pütz (Belicon Motorsport), three drivers are within striking distance of the Swiss. ...
Zeller and Pütz have dominated the sub-rankings so far
In the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup 2019 two sub-ratings are integrated. In the RAVENOL Formula 3 Cup Dr.Ralph Pütz is currently leading the standings ahead of Christian Wachter and Christian Zeller. In 2019, the Swiss Formula drivers will again score points in the SWISS Formula 3 Cup, which is supported by the HORAG company. Sandro Zeller leads the table ahead of Kurt Böhlen and Antoine Bottiroli.
