Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)
After the summer break, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup comes to Brno for its sixth round (06.-08.09.2019). The Masaryk Racing Days will be a guest at the circuit finale in the Czech Republic and the FIA Zone Championship. The Masaryk Racing Days will not only feature the formula categories of the FIA Zone Championship, but also the Italian TOPJET F2000 Trophy with Formula 3. The program is packed with touring car and GT series as well as the HAIGO racing series with racing and touring cars from past times. The absolute highlight of the weekend are the races to the BOSS GP with former Formula 1 and GP2 cars.
A total of 17 decisions will be made on the popular motorcycle racing circuit, which hosts the Moto-GP every year. The majority of the drivers in the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup consider the 5.403 km long circuit to be their favourite courses. After the last two sprint races at Mugello Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) was able to defend his lead of the standings. The competition is still on the Swiss's heels and theoretically has the chance to challenge him for overall victory. In Brno Antoine Bottiroli (GFORCE Racing) and Andrea Cola (Monolite Racing) have to finish ahead of Zeller to reduce the points gap. Although there are three runs at the Hungaroring final in October, Sandro Zeller can make a preliminary decision in Brno. Between Bottiroli and Cola the run for the runner-up title remains completely open. Andrea Cola was able to win the 2nd run in Mugello and to hold on to second place. In Brno he wants to land at the top. Kurt Böhlen leads the chasing group from rank four to the top trio. Tom Beckhäuser (both Franz Wöss Racing) and Marcel Tobler (Jo Zeller Racing) rank just behind. Beckhäuser wants to show off in the home game and, like his race victory at the Red Bull Ring, will provide a surprise. Nico Gruber (Team Hoffmann Racing) comes to the Czech Republic with a comfortable lead in Formula Renault. In Most and Mugello he celebrated a double victory. His team mate Dr.Norbert Groer is currently in second place ahead of Matej Kacovsky (Team HKC Racing), who also has a home game in Brno. Florian Münger (Jo Zeller Racing) leads the Formula 3 Trophy classification. His team-mate Urs Rüttimann was able to convince with a one-two victory in Mugello and wants to displace the currently second-placed Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing) from his position.
Pütz and Zeller still ahead in the sub-rankings
In the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup 2019 two sub-ratings are integrated. In the RAVENOL Formula 3 Cup Dr.Ralph Pütz is currently leading the table. In 2019, the Swiss Formula drivers will score points in the SWISS Formula 3 Cup, which is supported by HORAG. Here Sandro Zeller comes to the Czech Republic as the sovereign front runner.
On Friday (06.09.) the free practice for the Drexler Automotive Formula Cup is scheduled at 13.00 before the first qualifying at 15.10 o'clock. The 1st run will take place on Saturday (07.09.) at 10.40 am. The 2nd Qualifying will take place on Sunday (08.09.) from 9.00 a.m. onwards.
