With six race weekends for the time being, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup has fixed its schedule for this year. A seventh event will be added. At present discussions are running in different directions. The company Drexler Automotive is again active 2020 as main sponsor. RAVENOL will be involved as a technical partner in the racing series as in 2019. Also on board is the company BIO-CIRCLE, as well as HORAG AG from Switzerland. The formula series will continue to compete on international race tracks with Formula 3, Formula Renault and Formula 4. If one counts Imola in the calendar as former Grand Prix track to it, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup 2020 drives on three Formula 1 racing tracks. In addition there are two race tracks with Mugello and Brno, where Moto GP is at home. "After the experiences of the past years we have again succeeded in putting together an attractive calendar for this year. We will be racing in Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic. When selecting the race tracks, we made sure that we could agree on reasonable general conditions", says coordinator Franz Wöss.

The season will start in mid-May (15./17.05.2020) at the Red Bull Ring as part of the FIA Zone Championship. On the second weekend of June (12/14.06.2020) the formula series returns to the Salzburgring, where it was last staged in 2016. During the summer months the series will travel to Italy. In cooperation with the TOPJET F2000 Italy Formula Trophy, Mugello will start the event from 17./19.07.2020. At the end of August (28./30.08.2020) the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup comes to Imola. After that there will be no breather. Already one week later, on the first weekend of September (04./06.09.2020), the team will be present at the FIA ZONE Championship races in Brno. The final in Monza, which will be held with the TOPJET F2000 Italy Formula Trophy from 16/18.10.2020, is the preliminary conclusion of the championship. "The choice of race tracks and events is extremely important for our formula series and especially for the participating teams. There simply has to be planning security here. As in 2019, it was important for us to present ourselves on European race tracks that are demanding in terms of driving and have a special attraction in international motorsport. Furthermore, the approach routes for the teams should remain manageable due to the costs", says Franz Wöss.
