After a successful season last year, but a really difficult one due to Corona, the Drexler Formula Cup is ready to start in 2021. The season will kick off on the first weekend in May, when the Formula racing series meets at the Formula 1 circuit in Monza, Italy. "We're hoping for a great grid in Italy. To what extent the travel regulations will affect motorsport, as they did last year, remains to be seen. The local organizers will prepare everything as best as possible to meet the hygiene and safety regulations," says coordinator Franz Wöss. A total of five classification classes will be integrated into the Drexler Formula Cup in 2021. This wide range of possible applications has always aroused interest among teams and drivers. From Formula 3, to Formula Renault and Formula 4, the established classifications are included.

The main focus in the Drexler Formula Cup remains Formula 3 of the years of construction up to 2018. Formula 3 has a long tradition both in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Somehow, one feels obliged to offer Formula 3 a stage. Ultimately, the stars of recent years have come from Formula 3 and quite a few drivers have made the jump to Formula 1. Still integrated as an independent category is the Formula 3 Trophy, which unites cars from the Formula 3 model years 1992 to 2007. In Formula Renault, everything remains the same. These drive in the Formula Renault 2.0 Cup of the years of construction 2000 to 2018. In the Formula 4 not only the current Formula 4 vehicles are entitled to start. Here it is possible to enter a Formula ADAC, Formula BMW, Abarth or Gloria. Once again, Formula 3 cars with performance-enhanced engines have been included in the regulations, which compete for the F3 Open Formula Cup. Especially for the Swiss participants, the SWISS Formula Cup will be continued with the support of HORAG. With the five classification classes and the flagship with Formula 3, the Drexler Formula 3 Cup offers optimal basic conditions in formula racing, which should appeal to professionals, semi-professionals or hobby racers as in recent years. "We want to continue our philosophy, especially for form beginners. This way, a junior driver can not only take his first steps in a formula car. In our environment, you can move up from Formula 4 to Formula 3," says Franz Wöss. In 2021, the Drexler Formula Cup wants to follow in the footsteps of the long-standing formula sports tradition. The basic aim is to be responsible for promoting talent and giving the drivers the tools they need for future tasks.
