Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Autodromo Vallelunga (ITA)
The Drexler Formula Cup will start next weekend (01.-03.07.22) for its 5th round in Vallelunga. For the first time, the formula series visited the Autodromo Vallelunga 30 kilometres north of Rome last autumn. The fifth round is eagerly awaited. The race programme at the ACI Racing Weekend is packed. With the Italia F4 Championship, the Italiano Sport Prototipi and the Mini Challenge, prominent circuit series from Italy are taking part. In the Drexler Formula Cup, the half-time champions were decided after the 4th championship weekend. With another double victory at the Red Bull Ring, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) put himself in a perfect position for the rest of the season. David Richart (Franz Wöss Racing) is currently second in the standings, followed by Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing). Tomas Chabr (Chabr Motorsport) is also close to the podium in fourth place. Daniel Tapinos (Franz Wöss Racing), who is in fifth place, can also hope for a respectable finish and lay the foundation for this already in Vallelunga.
The Formula 3 Open category has really boomed this year. The Formula 3 racers, equipped with a little more horsepower and more weight, have provided enough action and have dueled with the actual Formula 3 class several times. Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) comes to Vallelunga as the leader of the standings. Paolo Brajnik is currently in second place, ahead of Janos Magyar (Magyar Racing). For Cian Carey (Franz Wöss Racing) it will be important to make up some lost ground. Japan's Juju Noda (Vadum Racing), who finished in the points in Styria last time out, is looking very promising in sixth place in the standings together with Franco Cimarelli (Facondi Racing). In Formula Renault, defending champion Dr. Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing) has managed to pull away from his rivals. Three drivers are tied on points behind the Austrian. Andre Petropoulis (Team Hoffmann Racing), Fabio Turchetto and Denis Mezzacasa (X Motors Team) are currently fighting for the second position in the standings. The Formula 4 category is led by Vojtech Birgus (JMT Racing). He is tied for the lead with Tommaso Lovati (Lema Racing). Behind him, Zeno Kovacs (Trevor Team) has taken third place. After two free practice sessions on Friday (01.07.22), qualifying is scheduled for Saturday (02.07.22) at 9.35 am. At 14.00 hrs the lights will turn green for the 1st race. The 2nd race will take place on Sunday (03.07.22) at 11.50 am.
