Preliminary decision at the Masaryk Racing Days

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)
After the summer break, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to Brno for its seventh round (September 09-11). The traditional circuit in the Czech Republic thus heralds the final autumn. The Masaryk Racing Days at the Motorcycle Grand Prix circuit have been an integral part of the Drexler Formula Cup calendar for years. Both sprint races are held together with the FIA Zone Championship, which holds its final in Brno. The race program is top-class. The focus is on the BOSS GP with Formula 1 and GP2 cars. In addition, the Clio Cup and the GT series with the P9 Challenge and the SCC are likely to cause a stir. "We expect exciting clashes. In terms of the championship, the first decisions can be made with us this weekend. However, this presupposes that the favorites can successfully assert themselves," says coordinator Franz Wöss.
On both days of the weekend, 15 races are scheduled on the 5.403-kilometer circuit. After the six race weekends in the Drexler Formula Cup so far, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has been able to maintain his lead in the standings. The Swiss defending champion has it in his hands in the Czech Republic to clinch his seventh title in a row. The points haul would then be big enough for him not to have to take any risks at the finale in Mugello (ITA). His rival Davis Richert (Franz Wöss Racing) is not within striking distance of Zeller. For him, second place in Formula 3 should be safe in any case. Tomas Chabr (Chabr Motorsport) and Luca Iannaccone (Franz Wöss Racing) are fighting for third place. In the Formula 3 Open category, Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) comes to Brno with a similarly good season record. In his Formula 3 debut last year, he raced on a par with Sandro Zeller and celebrated a great debut. The Hungarian has created an excellent starting position and can become Formula 3 Open champion at Brno. His rival Paolo Brajnik will not be on the grid in Brno. Juju Noda (Vadum Racing) is back at the Masaryk Ring and is looking forward to the start in the Czech Republic. The same applies to Vladimir Netusil (Effektive Racing) who, like his compatriots Vaclav Lausman (SAPE-Motorsport) and Vaclav Safar (GT2 Motorsport), is expecting a lot at the home race. In Formula Renault, Robert Siska (Franz Wöss Racing) and Stephan Glaser (Jo Zeller Racing) are looking to challenge championship leader Dr. Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing). Groer has created a strong points cushion for himself and can become champion early with two possible victories in Brno. On Friday (09.09.) the first qualifying is scheduled for the Drexler Formula Cup at 15.00 hrs. The 1st run will take place on Saturday (10.09.) at 10.30 am. After the 2nd Qaulifying at 9.15 o'clock on Sunday morning (11.09.) the 2nd run goes over the stage around 11.40 o'clock.
