Tom Beckhäuser to make comeback in Formula 3

Just one week after the second race weekend in Imola, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to its third stop. This weekend (28.-30.04.23), the Formula Series will be a guest at the Hungaroring just outside the Hungarian capital as part of the FIA CEZ Championship. The event also heralds the start of the motorsport year in circuit racing in Hungary. In addition, there are points in the Austrian race car national championship.

After the 2nd round in Imola, Benjamin Berta (Franz Wöss Racing) has pushed himself into the role of favorite with his outstanding double victory. Within the team the competition for him is getting bigger again. Tom Beckhäuser from the Czech Republic enters Formula 3 and will start for Franz Wöss Racing with his comeback at the Hungaroring. Beckhäuser is no stranger to Formula racing and has gone through a number of stations. In 2017, he raced in Formula 4 for the Mücke Motorsport team in Germany and competed for US Racing in Formula 4 UAE in Asia in 2018. When he moved to Formula 3 in 2019, he had some successes to show for it, finishing third in the final standings in the Drexler Formula Cup. At the Red Bull Ring, in Brno and at the Hungaroring, he took race wins and made it pretty difficult for the competition such as Sandro Zeller or Andrea Cola. So it will be interesting to see how Beckhäuser fares. With Benjamin Berta he has a team mate at his side who simply has a very good "run" this year and wants to decide the home race for himself. Defending champion Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) holds a promising position in the Formula 3 Cup after the first two race weekends. In Hungary, the goal should be to win and get closer to Benjamin Berta. The program for the FIA CEZ Championship is well filled with GT and touring car classes. The newly established ACCR Czech Formula with Formula 4 race cars will also start the season, after the actual season opener at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben had to be skipped. Not only the races of the FIA CEZ D4 GT category should be the highlight, but also the races of the TCR Eastern Europe promise a lot of excitement with a good-class field of the international TCR category. The weekend will be rounded off with the Swift Cup Europe, as well as the Twingo Cup. Friday (28.04.23) is scheduled for the free practice sessions. On Saturday (29.04.23), the first qualifying session is scheduled for the Drexler Formula Cup at 10:30 am. Around 14.40 o'clock the 1.run takes place. On Sunday (30.04.23) follows at 11.25 o'clock the second qualifying. 15:20 o'clock goes then the 2.run to the Drexler formula Cup over the stage.
