Will Juju Noda (Noda Racing) score the next coup?

25 July 2023

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Hockenheim

Before the summer break, the 6th round of the Drexler Formula Cup is scheduled at the Hockenheimring. The Grand Prix circuit in Baden is one of the favorite circuits for Formula 3 and Formula Light cars, if only because of its tradition. "After the season highlight of our series, it's now off to Hockenheim, which also hosted Formula 1 for many years. Of course, the drivers and teams are looking forward to Hockenheim with great anticipation. Formula 3 can look back on a great tradition in Baden," says coordinator Franz Wöss. The Porsche Club Days (July 28-29) will provide the stage for the two sprint races in the Drexler Formula Cup. In addition, the sixth Formula 1 track in Europe will be raced this season.

The cards will be reshuffled on the 4.574-kilometer Grand Prix circuit. Benjamin Berta (Franz Wöss Racing) comes to Hockenheim as the leader of the Drexler Formula 3 Cup standings. The Hungarian had to admit defeat twice in the Ardennes, leaving the field to the outstanding Juju Noda (Noda Racing). Berta took second place in both races at Spa and stabilized his championship lead with 189 points. Sandro Zeller scored points in both races in Belgium, finishing third in race 2. The defending champion will not be really satisfied. Juju Noda reduced the gap to Zeller by 13 points. Will the Japanese succeed in scoring the next coup at Hockenheim? The two sprint races will show whether Zeller's years of experience on the track could be the deciding factor. In the season to date, Noda has also been able to hit the ground running on "new territory" race tracks. For Bernardo Pellegrini (HP Powertrain) and his compatriot Francesco Galli (G Motorsport), the top three finishers are out of reach. Benjamin Berta cannot afford to make a mistake. If he did, the chasers would possibly move even closer. In the Drexler Formula 3 Trophy, things have been going flawlessly so far for Marcel Tobler (Jo Zeller Racing). He made a late start to the season and has taken the lead with the two double victories at Spielberg and Spa. Behind him is currently Francesco Solfarolli (Facondini Racing) in second place, followed by Eduardo Bonanomi (Team Automobile Tricolore). Fabio Turchetto (A.S.D.Ruote Scoperte M.) is leading the Drexler Formula Light Cup after the five rounds held so far. Behind the Italian, Robert Siska (Franz Wöss Racing) and Dr. Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing) are tied for second place. Here, before the summer break, the time has not yet come, whereby Dr.Norbert Groer has announced his claim to a successful title defense with the podium finishes in Spa. The program for the Porsche Club Days is well filled at Hockenheim. In addition to the P 9 Challenge, the PCHC, as well as the VfV GLPpro with touring cars and GT's, as well as formula racing cars will be at the start. The Drexler Formula Cup will complete both free practice sessions on Friday (28.07.2023) at 10.00 am and 12.30 pm. Around 16.40 is then the qualifying. The 1st run will take place on Saturday (29.07.2023) at 9.35 am. 15.25 o'clock follows then the 2.run.
