Drexler Formula Cup – Slovakiaring (SVK)
Two drivers clearly dominated both sprint races in the fourth round of the Drexler Formula Cup at the Slovakiaring. In Formula 3, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) was in top form and won both races in commanding fashion. The Swiss driver took pole position with a time of 1:56.273, leaving Christof Ledermann (Franz Wöss Racing) and Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing) almost 4 seconds behind him. Without his regular rival Benjamin Berta, Zeller had an easy time in both races and sealed the deal early on. In the first race, he beat Christof Ledermann by 15.015 seconds, while Urs Rüttimann had to retire his Dallara on the last lap. Nikolay Takev (APE Racing) finished third in Formula 3.
The second race was even more dominant for Sandro Zeller. With a lead of almost 23 seconds, the Swiss driver crossed the finish line after 13 laps ahead of Ledermann, who held Urs Rüttimann in third place in Formula 3. In the overall standings, Michael Fischer put in a remarkable performance in both Formula Renault races. The Austrian not only dominated the Formula Light category with his double victory. Twice, the LRT Racing drivers managed to break into the phalanx of Formula 3 cars. Behind Fischer, Hungarian Zeno Laszlo Kovacs (Kermor Motorsport) finished second ahead of Alexander Fritz, who drove the second Formula Renault from LRT Racing. Co-favourite Sarene Ziffel retired in the first race on lap five. Things went really well for the Frenchwoman in the second race. Michael Fischer was no threat to her, but she had a thrilling duel with Alexander Fritz right up to the chequered flag. Alexander Fritz crossed the finish line 0.655 seconds ahead of Ziffel. The 5.922-kilometre Slovakiaring provided an attractive stage for the Drexler Formula Cup premiere. Incidentally, Sandro Zeller set the fastest time. In the second race, he was even faster than in qualifying with a time of 1:55.606 minutes.
