The Drexler Automobile Formula Cup is becoming the Austria Formula Cup. That's the short and sweet way to describe the renaming of the formula series after the long-standing partnership and cooperation with Drexler Automotive GmbH came to an end. ‘We would like to express our sincere thanks to Herbert Drexler and his team for their tremendous support. This partnership has played a significant role in the development of our formula series in recent years. We have now decided to start the 14th season of the formula series under the name Austria Formula Cup,’ says Franz Wöss. The Schwarzenberg Formula 3 team boss and coordinator looks back with pride on what has been achieved and wants to continue to lead the formula series successfully into the future. This does not only apply to the cooperation with sponsors. With the Topjet F2000 Trophy, the FIA Zone Championship and the Austrian Formula State Championship, there will be cooperation in 2026 at the eight events in five European countries.
In addition, the Austria Formula Cup is a high-calibre platform for Formula 3, Formula Renault and Formula Regional. This season's calendar is once again promising and, with four Formula 1 race tracks, more than attractive. These include the Red Bull Ring, Imola, Monza and Mugello. Vallelunga, Slovakiaring and Brno are further race tracks with international flair on board. The Croatian race track in Grobnik is included for the first time. The Austria Formula Cup did not only consider the financial conditions when planning its season. The partnership with the TopJet F2000 Trophy played a major role in the preparations for the season. The Austria Formula Cup will kick off the new motorsport year from 10 to 12 April with the opening race at the Red Bull Ring. ‘I believe that being able to hold the first race as our home race in Styria will inspire the teams and drivers,’ said Franz Wöss.
