First race win for Thomas Aregger

Drexler Automotive Formula Cup - Monza (ITA)
The season of the Drexler Formula Cup ended with two turbulent races in Monza. Together with the Top Jet F.2000 Italy Trophy, the team presented itself at the finale with a field of over 30 formula cars. In Monza of all places Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) made himself the best present with his first Formula 3 victory. The Swiss, who was already vice-champion, profited in the 1st run from the bad luck of his compatriot Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing). He steered into the pits on lap seven and did not resume the race afterwards. A longer safety car phase had torn the race apart because a Formula 4 car had spread oil on the track. Behind Thomas Aregger, Andrea Benalli (Pure Sport) and Marco Minelli (AM Sport), two pilots from the Top Jet series, finished second. On Sunday morning Sandro Zeller restored the ranking in Formula 3 at the 2nd race. Although Aregger held the pole, he could not really get dangerous for Sandro Zeller during the 13 lap chase. In addition, he came off badly from the start and like all drivers he had to fight with the outside temperatures because the tires didn't get the desired grip. After a safety car period in the middle of the race, Sandro Zeller, lying in the lead, was not surprised by the competition and crossed the finish line as winner with a 5.223 second lead, ahead of Thomas Aregger and Franco Cimarelli (Facondini Racing), who fought a duel worth seeing. In the Formula 4 Benjamin Berta (Gender Racing) took a double victory and became champion in front of Patrick Schober (Procar Motorsport), while Oliver Michl (Gender Racing) caught up with Dr. Norbert Groer in the final race in Monza with a double victory. Thus the victory in the valuation of the formula Renault went like in the formula 4 to Hungary. Although Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing) won the Formula 3 Trophy twice, the already established champion Prof. Dr. Ralph Pütz (Franz Wöss Racing) could not be pushed from his throne. Pütz underlined his constant performance in the 2020 season with two second places in Monza.
