Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

Leads a possible overall victory in the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup 2019 over Switzerland again. If you look at the result of the season opener in Monza, you could undoubtedly agree with this forecast. Last year's champion Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) clinched a one-two victory in his F3 Dallara 308-Mercedes. So the competition at auf´s Neue is shaken awake. Zeller drives this season in the car with which he contested the F3 European Championship in 2012. The direct competitors could come this year increasingly from the camp of the Confederates.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

After the season opener in Monza, Italy, the Drexler-Automotive Formula is coming to its second station in Styria. The Red Bull Ring will be the venue for the Leeb Circuit Trophy from 17 to 19 May with a class field. In addition to the FIA CEZ series with touring cars, GT vehicles and formula cars, the P9 Challenge with GT´s and the Sports Car Challenge will be there. The programme is complemented by the Renault Clio Cup Central Europe and the KIA Platinium Cup. On both days (18-19 May) fans can visit all spectator seats and the paddock - free of charge. Not only coordinator Franz Wöss is looking forward to the 2nd round of the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup. "We expect a strong field at the Red Bull Ring. More than 30 formula racing cars, especially Formula 3, will provide real excitement and action". Overall organiser Gerhard Leeb sees things in a similar light. For him, the annual event has become an integral part of the Austrian circuit racing calendar. The Leeb Circuit Trophy has a long tradition and presents itself as one of the top-class events before Formula 1 stops in Spielberg on 30 June. "On these two days we offer circuit racing with 15 races at the highest level and are happy for the fans that we can offer both race days free of charge for all visitors", says Gerhard Leeb.

Sandro Zeller convinces at season opener in Monza

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has started the new season in the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup in the royal park of Monza with a double victory. In cooperation with the F.2000 Italy Trophy, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup presented a strong field with 22 vehicles. In qualifying, Antoine Bottiroli (GForce Racing) together with Andrea Benalli dominated the competition ahead of Sandro Zeller. The Swiss caught the better line at the start of the 15 lap pace for the 1st race and was the first to turn into the chicane. Then Zeller took the scepter in his hand and kept the lead until the finish. Riccardo Perego remained in the slipstream, but had to admit defeat by 2,572 seconds.

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

Next weekend (05.-07.04.19) the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup starts the new season. A total of seven events are scheduled for 2019. The new motorsport year also begins for the Italian circuit scene in the royal park of Monza. With the TCR Italy Touring Car Championship, the Campionato Italiano Sport Prototipi and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, top-class racing series will be on site. As in the previous year, the F.2000 Italy Trophy will be combined with the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup. "We expect a great field at the season opener and have 24 cars on the grid. Formula 3 clearly accounts for the lion's share," coordinator Franz Wöss looks ahead. For Formula 3, the 5.793 kilometre Formula 1 circuit at Monza is the fastest racetrack in this year's Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup. The Formula 3 racing cars reach average speeds of around 190 km/h here.
