Drexler - Automotive Formula Cup - Brno (CZE)
With his fourth double victory in a row, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has set the course for his successful title defense in Brno. On the 5.403-kilometer Masarykring, the Swiss played out his entire routine and won both sprint races of the Drexler Formula Cup with superiority. First of all, Zeller took pole position on Friday and was able to distance the local hero Vaclav Safar (GT2 Motorsport) by 0.288 seconds. The Czech wanted to create a surprise at the Masaryk Racing Days. Although Safar stayed close to Zeller at the beginning of the 1st race, he could not make a decisive impact over the 13 lap distance. With heavily decreasing tires he had to let Zeller go, who didn't have any trouble to win another race. Behind Safar Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) was third ahead of Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing).
Safar put all his eggs in one basket at the 2nd qualifying in the continuous rain on Sunday morning and conquered the poles, ahead of Aregger and Zeller. But also in the 2nd race the attack on Sandro Zeller failed. Safar did not get a good start. Zeller escaped the field. Except for 10.903 seconds he distanced his pursuers and celebrated his fourth double victory in a row. As on Saturday, Safar finished second and relegated Thomas Aregger to third place. A great debut in the Formula Renault was made by the only 15-year-old Jorden Doliska (Team TOP SPEED). In her first formula race, the Vienna-born driver prevailed over the competition and won the Formula Renault classification on Saturday. On Sunday the Hungarian Oliver Michl (F-Racing 2000 KfT) was in front. Doliska finished second and climbed onto the podium again. The other podium positions were shared by Stephan Glaser (Jo Zeller Racing) and Dr. Norbert Groer. Prof.-Dr.Ralph Pütz extended his lead in the Formula 3 Trophy classification with two more podium places. In both races he was second behind Urs Rüttimann. In Formula 4 the Hungarian Benjamin Berta (F-Racing 2000 Kft) convinced with a double victory in front of Patrick Schober ( PROCAR Motorsport). This puts Berta in a promising position for the final autumn in Formula 4.
