Autodromo Tazio Nuvolari invites to the annual award ceremony

24 February 2025

Drexler Automotive Formula Cup

The annual award ceremony for the Drexler Automotive Formula Cup will take place next Saturday (01.03.2025). In view of the co-operation with the ZINOX F2000 Trophy, the location of the award ceremony was chosen in Italy, as in the previous year. This time it will be at the Autodromo Tazio Nuvolari in Cervesina. The racetrack was named after the famous Italian racing driver Tazio Nuvolari when it opened in 2014 and is located 70 kilometres south of Milan. Since last year, the circuit has been extended to a length of 5.3 kilometres and certified by the FIA. This represents a major step towards approval for car and motorbike racing. The name Tazio Nuvolari is a reminder of one of Italy's greatest racing drivers, who began racing motorbikes in the 1920s and then switched to motor racing. In the 1930s, Nuvolari dominated the European Grand Prix Championship in an Alfa Romeo. In 1938, he suffered a terrible fire accident, which seemed to end his career. But things turned out differently. The Auto-Union racing department signed him up as a works driver. After the Second World War, he returned to racing. He made his mark at the Mille Miglia and in hill climbs in Sicily. The Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup has been able to present a very exciting season in 2024. On Saturday, the trophies and cups will be presented to the winners and runners-up in what is sure to be a very fitting setting, with its name commemorating the European history of motorsport and one of its most famous racing drivers.
