Strong field for the finale on the traditional Formula 1 track

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Monza (ITA)

Two weeks after the penultimate race weekend at the Hungaroring, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup is coming to its sixth round in Monza (November 6-8). The finale will take place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. In Formula 3, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has already been crowned champion. It is his fifth title in a row.
Most recently, the Drexler Formula Cup in Hungary started with a mini-field. Corona conditionally the drivers from Italy and Switzerland preferred not to be there. At the final in Monza this weekend, the Drexler Formula Cup will be racing together with the TOPJET F.2000 Italy Trophy for the third time this season. These are also the reasons why one can expect a large field of participants on the Formula 1 circuit. The organizer of the ACI (Automobile Club d`Italia) has been able to fulfill all corona measures provided by the authorities. The program includes three "high-caliber" cars from the Italian circuit scene: GT-Endurance, TCR Italy and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. "We think to have more than 30 cars at the start and want to experience a worthy end of the season in probably the most difficult year in the history of our series", says coordinator Franz Wöss. The old and new champion Sandro Zeller would like to add another double victory to his successful season. Behind him, Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) has established himself, who wants to take the runner-up title in his first Formula 3 year at Monza. For Prof.Dr.Ralph Pütz it will certainly be difficult to defend his current third place. The champion in the Formula 3 Trophy classification, who has also already been confirmed, will have to watch out for his pursuers Daniel Tapinos and Luca Iannaccone (both Franz Wöss Racing), who are also hoping for third place in the overall classification. Formula 3 is strongly represented in the driver field with a good 25 cars. In Formula 4, Benjamin Berta (Gender Racing) wants to make the sack final and has moved into the role of favorite. It remains to be seen whether Dr. Norbert Groer can win the title in Formula Renault. Oliver Michl (Gender Racing) also has a good chance to win it.

On Friday (06.11.) the qualifying for the Drexler Automotive Formula Cup at 15.30 is scheduled. The 1st race takes place on Saturday (07.11.) at 12.00 o'clock. On Sunday (08.11.) the 2nd race will take place at 9.00 am.

First victories of the season for Brajnik and Kacovsky

Drexler Automotive Formula Cup - Hungaroring (HUN)

At the 5th round of the Drexler Formula Cup at the Hungaroring there were new winners on the podium. Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) was already determined as the new champion before the race weekend and was not at the start in Hungary, like other drivers from Switzerland and Italy. In both qualifying sessions Paolo Brajnik with his Dallara F317 with approx. 30 "more horsepower" as the FIA zone regulations allow, the field was very manageable due to the Corona pandemic and its effects. Brajnik likes the 4.381 km long Formula 1 circuit. Last year he was on the podium in all three races and even won the 1st race. He was able to repeat this success this year in the first race on Saturday and won ahead of Oliver Michl (F-Racing) and Daniel Tapinos (Franz Wöss Racing) with his Dallara F308-311 Mugen. Shortly before the start a part of the side box of Matej Kacovsky's Dallara ((HKC Racing) caught fire, which forced the Czech to retire early. In wet conditions and a partly very slippery track the second run was held on Sunday. At first Paolo Brajnik spun and retired early because the engine failed. Matej Kacovsky in the Dallara F308 then took the lead from the front row of the grid and held it until the finish. The Czech controlled the field during the 11-lap distance and gained a comfortable lead of 26.318 seconds. Behind him, Daniel Tapinos finished second. The Greek climbed to the podium for the first time in 2020 and was able to push Oliver Michl to third position. Formula 3 returnee Antonin SUS (Franz Wöss Racing) got off to a good start and was happy to finish fourth twice. In the Formula 3 Trophy classification, Prof.Dr.Ralph Pütz (Franz Wöss Racing) scored the necessary points for overall victory. Benjamin Berta (F-Racing) didn't let anything burn in Formula 4 and took a double victory at the home game. Patrick Schober (Procar Motorsport) missed his chance to get closer to the Hungarian. In the Formula Renault Dr.Norbert Groer set himself well in scene with two podium positions and could extend his lead in the table. Local hero Oliver Michl scored the full points, but he is still behind Dr.Norbert Groer.

First preliminary decisions expected

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Hungaroring (HUN)

On the penultimate weekend in October, the Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup will come to the Hungaroring for its fifth round (October 24-25)). The 4,381 km long Grand Prix circuit at the gates of Budapest heralds the final autumn. Afterwards it's off to the final round in Monza. Since the cooperation with the FIA CEZ, the Hungaroring has recently established itself on the Drexler Formula Cup calendar. With the FIA CEZ (Sprint and Endurance) and the TCR Eastern Europe Trophy, as well as the Suzuki Swift Cup Europe, the racing program is varied. "Our championship goes into the hot phase. We expect some preliminary decisions in the formula classes. Unfortunately, the Covid 19 pandemic is not playing into our hands, as the rules and restrictions have been tightened up again all over Europe, many measures have been taken in a confusing way, and the uncertainty is sometimes great. This has led to the fact that some teams and pilots will not be at the start due to the too high risk", says coordinator Franz Wöss.

Drexler - Automotive Formula Cup - Brno (CZE)

With his fourth double victory in a row, Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) has set the course for his successful title defense in Brno. On the 5.403-kilometer Masarykring, the Swiss played out his entire routine and won both sprint races of the Drexler Formula Cup with superiority. First of all, Zeller took pole position on Friday and was able to distance the local hero Vaclav Safar (GT2 Motorsport) by 0.288 seconds. The Czech wanted to create a surprise at the Masaryk Racing Days. Although Safar stayed close to Zeller at the beginning of the 1st race, he could not make a decisive impact over the 13 lap distance. With heavily decreasing tires he had to let Zeller go, who didn't have any trouble to win another race. Behind Safar Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) was third ahead of Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing).
