2022 will see the arrival of the new Formula 4 vehicle generation

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

The new generation of Formula 4 cars announced for 2022 will make its way into the Drexler Formula Cup. "We are taking the next step in Formula 4 and are tendering this category for junior racing for the coming year," says coordinator Franz Wöss. In close cooperation with the ESET V4 Cup and the Austrian Racing Car National Championship, the Drexler Formula Cup will offer young talents the opportunity to use the new generation of vehicles. The new Formula 4 Monoposto has been improved and revised in many areas compared to the previous model, especially in terms of safety. In addition to an improved monocoque, the halo roll bar is one of the striking features of the 180-hp race car. The 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine already installed has 20 hp more under the hood from the new season. "We are thus continuing along the path of offering young drivers the opportunity to drive with us in the Drexler Formula Cup and take their first steps on the circuit," says Franz Wöss.

Preliminary schedule for 2022 fixed

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

With very long-term planning, the Drexler Formula Cup has fixed a provisional schedule for 2022. "Based on many discussions and telephone calls with event organizers, we can offer the teams an attractive schedule for next year. We hope that this will create more planning security for the season preparations", says coordinator Franz Wöss. The schedule with its eight events leaves nothing to be desired in Formula racing. There will be races at seven European Formula 1 circuits alone. Due to the long-standing cooperation with the FIA Zone Championship and the TOP JET FX2000 Trophy, the 16 rounds will be held in six countries. Sandro Zeller unstoppable at season finale

Drexler Formula Cup - Vallelunga (ITA)

At the final weekend of the Drexler Formula Cup Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) scored another double victory. On the Autodromo "P.Taruffi" the current champion could not be beaten this time by Brno winner Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) and took pole position with a 1:29,958 min in qualifying. The first race started more than turbulent in the EuroNASCAR series. At the start of the formula field, Prof. Dr. Ralph Pütz (Franz Wöss Racing) crashed into a stopped car and suffered two lumbar vertebrae fractures. The Formula 3 driver from Landshut was then taken to a clinic for further examinations, but no serious injuries were found. The impact on the start/finish straight caused quite a bit of chaos, to which Luca Iannacone (Franz Wöss Racing) drove into the back of the Formula 3 race car that had been involved in the accident and was unable to avoid it. Initially, a safety car phase followed, but this forced the race organizers to abandon the race in order to be able to salvage all the scattered parts of the accident vehicles. After a half-hour break in the race, the race director sent the field of formula racing cars on their way for the remainder of five race laps. Sandro Zeller, who had been leading until then, kept the upper hand until the finish and won by 0.595 seconds ahead of Benjamin Berta and Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing).

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Autodromo Vallelunga (ITA)

The Drexler Formula Cup will experience a special premiere next weekend (29.-31.10.21). For the first time, the Autodromo Vallelunga 30 kilometers north of Rome will be the venue. The sixth round of the formula series is eagerly awaited. Although in some categories the champions have been decided since the penultimate round in Brno, in Formula 3 it will be about the "runner-up title". Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing) could make everything clear early in the Czech Republic with his 6th title in a row. In Vallelunga Thomas Aregger and Stefan Fürtbauer (both Franz Wöss Racing) are challenged. Both are only six points apart in the fight for the vice championship. This duel is likely to add a special spice to both sprint races.
