After Hungaroring cancellation the final will take place in Vallelunga

Drexler - Automotive Formula Cup

The 6th round of the Drexler Formula Cup is postponed due to the cancellation by the organizer. Actually the race weekend should take place from 01.-03.October on the Hugaroring. Thus there is again a correction in the appointment calendar of the this year's season. The Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy has been fixed as the alternative date for the Drexler Formula Cup finale. The circuit 30 kilometers north of Rome belongs to the Italian Automobile Club ACI. On the last weekend in October (29.-31.10.) they will compete as part of the EURO NASCAR series. "After the cancellation in Hungary it was not easy to find another date. Due to the long-standing cooperation with the Top Jet F2000 Italian Formula Trophy, it was possible to have the date confirmed for our formula series. It is not easy for all parties involved to implement possible schedule changes, as we have always been able to realize planning security for the pilots and teams in the past," says coordinator Franz Wöss. After Imola was already cancelled this season, another already planned date is now added with the Hungaroring. The event in Vallelunga is now ready for the Drexler Formula Cup finale. If the insiders are to be believed so far, Vallelunga should be a very good alternative for the final.

Sandro Zeller won his 6th title in Brno

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup

Even if he did not land on the top of the podium in Brno this time. For Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing), the two races at the Masaryk Racing Days ended with his sixth Formula 3 title in a row. The Swiss has dominated Formula 3 in the Drexler Formula Cup since 2016. For the F3 driver, who competed in the F3 European Championship years ago, this is another milestone in his motorsport career. Behind Zeller, the die is still cast. Thomas Aregger (Franz Wöss Racing) did not compete in the Czech Republic and left the field to Stefan Fürtbauer (Franz Wöss Racing) in the fight for the other podium places. Fürtbauer moved six points closer to Aregger. It was not only in Formula 3 that preliminary decisions were made in Brno. In the sub-rankings of the Drexler Formula Cup, too, the favorites came out on top and clinched the title early. In Formula 4, the new champion is Patrick Schober (Procar Motorsport). He scored the necessary points to finally distance himself from his long-term rival Benjamin Berta (Gender Racing). Berta was successful in Formula 3 for the first time in Brno. In the Drexler Formula 3 Open, which is run with more powerful engines, Vladimi Netusil (Effective Racing) finally prevailed and secured the class win this season. The Czech offered a consistent season. Alesandro Bracalente (One Management) is currently in second place. Behind him is Christian Wachter (Rennsport Wachter) in third place. In the Drexler Formula 3 Trophy, which is reserved for cars built between 1992 and 2007, there is still a neck-and-neck race between Prof.Dr. Ralph Pütz (Franz Wöss Racing) and Urs Rüttimann (Jo Zeller Racing). Both share the lead with equal points. No decision has been made yet in Formula Renault. The leading Walter Steding (Speed Center) was not present in Brno and left the field to the pursuers. Luca Steffen (Speed Center) and Dr.Norbert Groer (Team Hoffmann Racing) used their chance to make up ground. Whether Robert Siska (Franz Wöss Racing) can maintain his current second position in the standings remains to be seen.

First Formula 3 victory for Benjamin Berta

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)

At the fifth race weekend of the Drexler Formula Cup, Vladimir Netusil (Effektive Racing) and Benjamin Berta (Team Hoffmann Racing) were two surprise winners against the competition. In the first race, pole-setter Benjamin Berta was unable to turn his best qualifying time into a victory and had to give way to local hero Vladimir Netusil during the 13-lap chase at the Masaryk Racing Days. The Czech from the Drexler sub-series of the Formula 3 Open won by 3.113 seconds ahead of Berta, who in turn was able to relegate Sandro Zeller (Jo Zeller Racing), as well as Kurt Böhlen (Jo Zeller Racing) and Nikolas Szabo (Ideal Line&Performance) to the other places. Stefan Fürtbauer (Franz Wöss Racing) initially remained within striking distance. In the course of the race, he was unable to keep up the pace and was recorded in sixth place.

First battle in the title fight

Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup - Automotodrom Brno (CZE)

After the long summer break, the Drexler Formula Cup comes to Brno (September 03-05) for its fifth round. If you like, the traditional track in the Czech Republic heralds the final autumn. The Masaryk Racing Days have been established for years in the calendar of the Drexler Formula Cup in Brno, where they again cooperate with the FIA Zone Championship. The racing program in Brno is top-class. The BOSS GP with Formula 1 and GP2 racing cars will take center stage. In addition, the TCR Eastern Europe, the Swift Cup Europe and the GT series with the P9 Challenge and the SCC are likely to cause a stir. "We expect exciting clashes in Brno. The championship is entering the hot phase, so at least the first preliminary decisions in the individual formula classes are to be expected," says coordinator Franz Wöss.
